I'll begin this month with a request for help from any of you living in the Uttoxeter area (or indeed those who pass by on the A50.) A bid has been submitted by our colleagues at Inland Waterways Association and if we are successful will help us to jointly run the second Waterway Recovery Group family camp at Crumpwood in June. Please vote for us if you do any shopping at either of the Tescos stores in Uttoxeter (the Tesco Superstore and the Tesco Express on New Road) any time until the end of this month.

I know it's less than a week since I wrote, but I have a couple of things to share. Firstly, apologies to those of you who didn't get the previous email until yesterday. Thanks to our subscriber, Gill, who pointed out to me that this had happened. There was a glitch with the new software, which sent the first batch of 100 messages and then stopped. The issue has now been fixed and shouldn't happen again.
Firstly, Happy New Year to all our friends and supporters. I am writing this after last night giving a talk about what the Trust has achieved over the past year. This was the fifth consecutive year that I have spoken to this particular group and it is always interesting to reflect on how much we have moved on as I prepare this talk.
Please note that we will not be running the planned work party on Thursday of this week. The ongoing poor weather conditions mean that it may not be safe to work in our usual area.
Our next work party will therefore be in the New Year, 11th January. I will write to everyone again in advance of this to confirm the details. Thank you to everyone who has attended this year, we are making a huge difference in the area and your contribution is much appreciated.
Welcome to the first edition of our new format newsletter. The new CUCT website is close to being ready and this feature is the first that is available.
